The Day I Had a Super Power : A Writing Prompt by My Daughter

Sharing is caring!

Once a week, I go over the list of writing prompts you, the readers, give me on my social media sites. I sit down with my 10 year old daughter to choose which she likes the most. She then challenges herself to write a story she thinks you guys will enjoy reading based on your ideas. Here is what she came up this week! If you like it, be sure to visit my social media sites to give her ideas for next week’s short story! Thank you for reading, and please leave her some love in the comments. She loves doing this.

Have you ever woke up, and something happened to you over night? I have. It was fun, but when I woke up, it was a disaster. And it all started like this.

When I woke, I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and comb my hair. “Hannah!” My mom yelled. I was almost done, but then she yelled again, “Hannah!” ” I’m coming, ” I said angrily. I ran down the stairs as fast as I could. I did not want to miss the bus. “ZOOM!” said the sound of me speeding. I was a flash. Oh wow! That’s me. I could not believe my eyes. I tried to find the scool bus, but I was too late. That’s okay. I had a plan. I could get to school without telling my mom that I was late. I could use my speed.

When I arrived at school, my teacher told me I was late. “Sorry Mrs. Florant,” I said. While my teacher was blabbing about dictionaries ( She is are English teacher), I heard the bell ring. It was lunch time finally. I told all of my friends about my super speed, and none of them believed me except for Emily and Jayden, my two favorite bffs because they are the best friends I could ever have.

The day was over, and my friends were having a sleepover at my house. “I dare you to show me your speed,” said Emily, “Ok,” I said. I did not know if it was going to work or not, but I gave it a shot. “ZOOM!” flashed my feet. “WOW!” said Emily and Jayden at the same time. Then it all stopped. “What happened,” I said in my head. I had no idea what was going on, so I tried it again it didn’t work. Nothing was going to stop me from trying it over and over and over again.

( 10 hours later )

“Okay. Now I think I am going to stop,” I said to my friends who were completely ignoring me. I saw my friends sleeping on my bed, and so I had to sleep on the floor. As I was sleeping on the floor, I was dreaming of the whole day, and I thought to myself “I hope another adventure comes in my path.”
